CRPF constable commits suicide in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 9 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel committed suicide here today, police said.

CRPF constable Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Punjab, was found dead with mysterious fire arm injury on his body in the barracks of his unit at NIIT Hazratbal on the city outskirts this morning.

He was attached with the CRPF's 137 battalion.

The police said the reasons for him to take the extreme step were not immediately known.

The police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard.
