CPI(M) worker killed in bomb explosion

Kannur, Dec 9 (UNI) A CPI(M) worker was killed and three others were seriouly injured, when a bomb exploded at Kolari near CPI(M) local committee house and AKG library about 1300 hrs today under Mattanur police limits.

Police said Shajil (25) of Moozhikara in Thalassery died at a private hospital in Kozhikode about 1900 hrs. Pragheesh (26) of Kolari lost one of his palms and was admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode.

V P Dilip(27) and Rajesh(24), both from Kolari, were admitted to Thalassery Co-operative Hospital.

Mattannur Sub Inspector P K Mani, Peravoor CI Thampan P K and the Bomb Squad visited the explosion site, police added.
