Intl conference on E-science, grid computing from Dec 10
Bangalore, Dec 8 (UNI) The third international conference on E-science and grid computing will begin here on December 10.
The four-day conference would be inaugurated by Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman G Madhavan Nair and the valedictory address would be delivered by Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajasekharan on December 14, a release from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) said today.
Department of Information Technology Advisor A K Chakravarti, Indian Institute of Science Associate Director N Balakrishnan, Indiana University Professor Geoffery Fox and Innstruck University Professor Thomas Fahringer would be present as guests of honour during the inaugural function.
The release quoted C-DAC Director General S Ramakrishnan as saying, the field was 'hot and evolving', and had the potential to fundamentally influence how science and collaboration cutting across nations and disciplines was conducted in future.
It would also contribute significantly in evolving an eco-system for next generation grid and web technologies, he said.
Previous conferences in this series were organised in Melbourne (2005) and Amsterdam (2006), the release added.
