4 killed in accident in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam, Dec 8: Four people, including three children, were killed and five others injured in an accident on Mary Matha Temple road in the harbour police station limits here last night, police said today.

Harbour Circle Inspector T Mohan Rao said the incident occurred when a heavy load of scrap fenders from a tractor, which was passing through, fell on the beggars sitting on the road side.

They were rushed to the King George Hospital here.

One of the victims died on the way, while the children succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

The deceased were identified as Venkanna (40), Mahesh (6), Hyena (2) and Devadas (six months).

The bodies were sent for post-mortem, police added.
