Panels for labour welfare, minimum wages constitued
Chandigarh, Dec 7 (UNI) The Punjab Government has constituted an 18-member Punjab State Labour Welfare Board and a 21-member Punjab Minimum Wages Advisory Board with immediate effect to create congenial employer-employee relationship and safeguard the rights of labour in the state.
The Labour Welfare Board would consist of the Labour Minister, Secretaries of Labour and Finance departments, Directors of Social Welfare and Industries departments and Labour Commissioner as official members besides non-official members.
The term of the board would be three years, a government spokesman said.
The Minimum Wages Advisory Board would comprise the Labour Minister, the Principal Secretaries of Labour, Finance, Industries and Commerce and Public Works (B&R) departments, the Economic Advisor and the Labour Commissioner as official members, besides non-official members. The term of the board would be two years.
