Naxals killed in encounter identified

Visakhapatnam, Dec 7: The three CPI (Maoists), who were killed in an encounter with the police in the thick forest area of Edukulamma Konda in Kayyuru Mandal on Wednesday, were identified, police said today.

They said the identity of Krishna, Gopal and Shankar was confimed midnight last night. The bodies would be sent for post-mortem to a hospital in Narsimpatnam this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Distict Police Superintendent Akun Sabharwal said the encounter dealt a severe blow to the Maoists.

Police also scored a major victory by arresting T Kamalamma, wife of CPI (Maoist) East Division Secretary Jagan, he said.

The Korukonda Dalam Commander was produced in a local court today. She had joined the then Peoples War Group (PWG) in 1992.
