Bihar Libraries' Act soon : Nitish

Patna, Dec 07 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the state government was preparing draft for the proposed Libraries' Act to boost the institutional purchase of books, which would enable the students to have access of quality books to improve their knowledge and wisdom.

Inaugurating the book fare here, Mr Kumar said the state Human Resources department had been directed to prepare the draft in this regard.

'' Once the Bihar State Libraries' Act comes into force, the libraries of educational institutions would have more fund for purchase of the books, '' he said.

'' The State government has released Rs 20 crore to schools for purchase of books, '' he said adding instructions had been issued to utilise the fund in purchasing books from the Patna book fare.

Mr Kumar said there was dearth of talents in Bihar as students of the state were performing well in various competitive examinations being conducted at national level.
