Security tightened in Maoist affected areas

Visakapatnam, Dec 6 (UNI) Security has been tightened in all Maoist-affected areas in the wake of the last night encounter, in which three Maoists were killed in thick forest terrains in Mampa police station limits, about 140 km from here.

Police sources today said the three bodies were not yet found.

Special police teams were deployed in all the police station limits, particularly in the 11 agency mandal areas and combing operations were going on.

A high alert had been sounded in the North coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam, while night patrolling and checking of vehicles were being carried out in the agency areas.

Senior police officials were monitoring the situation at various places in the city, police added.
