Modi to clarify his statement on Sohrabuddin to lawyer

New Delhi, Dec 6: Reacting to the threats of senior lawyer K T S Tulsi to withdraw as Gujarat's Special counsel, the BJP today said Chief Minister Narendra Modi would clarify his statement over the killing of Sohrabuddin in a fake encounter.

BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the party was confident that the lawyer would change his mind after Mr Modi's clarification. ''Mr Modi is not at all behind the encounter and if his clarification will not move the lawyer of Gujarat, the government can always hire another,'' Mr Malhotra said.

After the news channels showed clippings of Mr Modi's speech on encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, a case against which is pending before Supreme Court, Gujarat Counsel Mr K T S Tulsi had stated that he would withdraw from the case unless Mr Modi clarify.
