Hyderabad, Dec 6 (UNI) The indefinite strike of the junior doctors of all medical teaching hospitals in the city entered its fifth day today despite the state government accepting their demands in the talks held last night.
The junior doctors of Niloufer Children Hospital, Gandhi and Osmania hospitals took out a rally here, demanding that the government book attempt to murder case against Afsar Khan, MLA, who ''attacked'' the doctors on the night of November 2 at Niloufer Hospital.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the demand for the suspension of MLA by the doctors, who submitted a memorandum to Speaker K R Suresh Reddy yesterday, All India Mujlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, after meeting the Speaker, told newspersons that the party would take action against the legislator if he was found guilty in the police investigation launched into the attack.
He said, ''Mr Khan will not apologise to the doctors. The MLA neither abused nor attacked them. The doctors must apologise for boycotting works and causing deaths of children.'' Mr Owaisi alleged that the doctors were politicising the issue and they were being used by political parties.
