Journalist arrested, remanded in judicial custody

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 6 (UNI) A journalist, who allegedly acted as a courier to the Maoists, was arrested at Kandukur late last night.

According to police, the journalist P Srisailam was held while he was waiting to collect Rs ten lakh on behalf of the naxalites.

Police recovered four ATM cards and Rs 4,085 in cash from him.

Srisailam was produced before the Kandukar sessions court magistrate today, who remanded him to judicial custody till December 19.

Later, he was lodged in the sub jail here.
