Ballia by poll: BJP candidate files nomination

Ballia, Dec 6 (UNI) Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Virendra Singh Mast today filed his papers on the third nomination day for the Ballia Lok Sabha bypoll to be held on December 29.

The seat fell vacant following the death of former prime minister Chandra Shekhar.

Assistant election officer Dr S N Singh said, ''Only one candidate has filed nomination till now.'' The last date for filing the nomination is December 11.

Nomination papers would be scrutinised on December 12, while counting of votes will take place on January 2.

UNI
