Rape victim's body exhumed for probe
Muzaffarnagar, Dec 5 (UNI) Police here today exhumed the body of a girl, who was allegedly raped and throttled.
The body had been sent for an autopsy.
On November 19, seven-year-old Mangi disappeared under suspicious circumstances at village Vehlana, when she had gone to see a marriage procession.
The victim's family registered a case on November 27.
Police recovered the body from a farm yesterday.
The girl's family alleged that three persons had criminally assaulted Mangi before killing her and identified them as Pintu, Bhura and Lokesh.
They also complaint that owing to police pressure, the victim's father was forced to bury the body.
The corpse was exhumed only after the family approached the SP (city).
Investigations were underway.
