MBBS students protest by selling ''Vada-Pav''
Nashik, Dec 5 (UNI) MBBS students today sold ''Vada-Pav'' in a busy street here to protest the Union Government's proposed move to present a Bill in Parliament for increasing the MBBS course duration by one year.
The students resorted to this innovative way of protest to show that they would be forced to take up part time jobs to bear the financial burden of the extra one year.
The students had taken out a protest march on December 3 opposing the Union Government's proposed move of increasing the MBBS course duration from five and a half years to six and a half years including compulsory rural internship of one year. The students are also of the opinion that the proposed stipend for their internship is very low.
Their agitation today received support from Indian Medical Association and other organisations.
