Honour for nuclear scientist

Chennai, Dec 5 (UNI) Distinguished Scientist and Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research Director Baldev Raj today received the Stanley Ehrilich Gold Medal at a function in Tiruchengode.

An official release said the medal was given to Dr Raj by the Madras India Regional Chapter of Acoustical Society of America (MIRC-ASA) and American Society of Acoustics (ASA).

It was given away during the National Symposium on Acoustics held at K S Rangasamy college of Technology in Tiruchengode.

The medal was given to Dr Raj in recognition of his work in acoustics ranging from fundamentals of acoustics, material sciences and technology applications to structural integrity of engineering components and characterisation of Delhi Iron Pillar and Musical Pillars of Hampi.
