Contribute generously to Flag Day:Lt Governor

Puducherry, Dec 5: Puducherry Lt Governor Mukut Mithi today called up on the people to contribute liberally to the armed forces Flag Day fund and express solidarity with them.

In his message, Mr Mithi said flag day is observed on December seven to express gratitude for the sacrifices made by the armed forces and to honour the valiant deeds of soldiers both, the serving and veterans to preserve the sovereignty and integrity of the country.

The flag day signifies the obligation of the nation to the armed forces, he said adding the fund is primarily channelised for the welfare of service personnel and their families, resettlement of ex-servicemen and their families and to rehabilitate battle causalities. UNI
