Chargesheet against BDO and engineers in corruption case

Patna, Dec 5 (UNI) The state vigilance investigation bureau today submitted chargesheet in a special court against 12 people, including a former BDO and five engineers, in corruption case.

The chargesheet was submitted by the bureau under various sections of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act before the court of special vigilance judge S K Panwar.

Former BDO of Islampur in Nalada district Sujnath Prasad, former Block Extension Officer of Beswak Sunil Kumar, the then assistant Engineer of Road Constraction Department(RCD) Md Shameem, and four junior engineers of RCD were among the 12 chargesheeted accused.

The case was related to financial irregularities, committed in TRYSEM programme during the implementation of the project at Islampur block of Nalanda district. The FIR was lodged in 1999.
