India marks Navy Day

New Delhi, Dec 4, 2007 : The three chiefs of India's defence staff paid homage at the national war memorial at India Gate in the capital New Delhi on Tuesday December 4 to mark the occasion of Navy Day.

Navy chief Sureesh Mehta, Army chief Deepak Kapoor and Air Force chief P. Fali Homi Major paid floral tributes to Indian soldiers at the war memorial. The navy the smallest of India's defence forces operates one of the largest forces in the Indian Ocean with a fleet of 140 vessels.
