UP Council proceedings remain adjourn over farmers' issues

Lucknow, Dec 4 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council remained adjourned today, after the opposition parties raked up the sugarcane farmers' issues.

Raking up the issues during the Question Hour, Principal Opposition Samajwadi Party (SP), BJP and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) members denounced the ruling BSP government for being 'anti-farmer.' They asked from the Council Chairman Chaudhary Sukhram Singh Yadav to adjourn proceedings of the Upper House for having a discussion on the issue.

Later, Mr Yadav adjourned the proceedings till 25 minutes, when the opposition members ranted anti-Mayawati government slogans and trouped in the well of the Upper House.
