TN Govt regularises 1,083 horticulture farmers

Chennai, Dec 4 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government has regularised the services of 1,083 horticulture farmers, working as daily wage labourers for the last ten years.

State Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S Arumugham, in a release here today, said that following a demand from the farmers, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had favourably considered their plea and ordered regularisation of their services.

Consequent to this, 1,083 workers were regularised and placed in time scale pay, the release added.
