Haryana State Bharat Scouts bag 9 awards

Chandigarh, Dec 4 (UNI) The Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides has scaled new heights of excellence by bagging nine awards in various fields and activities at National Level.

This was stated here today by Mr K K Khandelwal, State Chief Commissioner, who participated in the meeting of National Council of Bharat Scouts and Guides held under the chairmanship of National President of Bharat Scouts and Guides and Karnatka Governor Rameshwar Thakur at New Delhi.

Mr Khandelwal said Bharat Scouts and Guides of Haryana State have got first position in numerical increase in Census in Scouts, Guides and Bulbuls, first position in overall growth and Luxami Mazumdar Award both in Scouts Wing, second position in overall growth and Luxami Mazumdar Award both in Guides Wing, second position in numerical increase in Census in Cub Section and second position in overall increase in Census in Scouts and Guides Wings.

He said the attainments of the glorious period of the last two years when a record registration of 42000 scouts, guides, cubs and bulbuls, was surpassed still further to touch the magic figure of 5.21 lakh, by garnering a fresh membership of 66000, an increase of 14.5 per cent during the year 2006-07.

He also disclosed that it has been planned to enrol five lakh membership more to numerically bag the top position at National Level.
