Eight TCS officers expelled from poll exercise

Agartala, Dec 4 Election Commission of India(ECI) has ousted eight Tripura Civil Service Gr-1 officers from the election duty.

Talking to mediapersons here today, state Chief Electoral Officer Dr G S G Ayyangar said that four of the officers, posted in Dhalai district were accused of negligence of election duty in July last.

This was done with the proposal of state election department.

Meanwhile, four other senior executives of the state administration had also been found "incompetent" on election duty in 2003, Dr Ayyangar said, adding that after reviewing previous records, state election authority had recommended their expulsion from the poll process and ECI has accepted it.
