BJP protests AP Govt's move to build dam across Palar
Vellore, Dec 4 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu today staged a demonstration in front of the Head Post Office here in protest against the Andhra Pradesh Government's move to construct a dam across river Palar.
Led by BJP State President L Ganesan, about 150 party cadres and leaders staged the agitation.
Addressing the agitators, Mr Ganesan urged the Union Government to nationalise the rivers running between the two States and build check dams to prevent surplus rain water draining into the sea.
Giving a fervent call for interlinking of rivers, he said the party would not give up its agitation until the Andhra Pradesh Government gave up its move to construct a dam across river Palar.
