Vajpayee expresses grief over Tashi Dawa's death

New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today said he had lost, in the death of former RSS Pracharak Tashi Dawa, "a personal friend, an old associate and social activist".

In a condolence message to Dawa's family, Mr Vajpayee recalled his contribution in the expansion of the earstwhile Jana Sangh in Himachal Pradesh. "It was only because of his efforts that the party had succeeded in winning the trust of tribals in Himachal Pradesh," he said.

Dawa, ailing for some time, died yesterday when he was being brought from Keylong, headquarter of the tribal district of Lahaul Spiti, to Kullu by road.
