TDP to provide relief for hostel inmate
Hyderabad, Dec 3 (UNI) Concerned over the alleged ''indifferent'' attitude of the Congress government to the plight of Social Welfare Hostel inmates, Telugu Desam Party Legislature Party Deputy Leader T Devender Goud today said he would take the initiative to provide relief material for hostel inmates in his constituency.
Talking to newspersons here, he said even one month after a TDP delegation's visit to the hostels, the Congress government had not taken any positive step to address the problem of inmates, who live in a highly deplorable condition, drawing the attention of the National Human Rights Commission.
The Devender Education Trust would distribute blankets and other relief materials to the inmates in his constituency, he said, urging philanthropists and other MLAs to provide relief material to the inmates in other constituencies too.
Referring to the death of six children in the Niloufer Government hospital, Mr Devender demanded ex-gratia payments to the families of the deceased because it was due to lack of treatment in view of the junior doctors strike.
