Sub-postmaster suspended for embezzlement charge

Agartala, Dec 3: The Postal Authority has suspended a sub-postmaster of the city today, following allegations of misappropriation of public fund worth Rs 11 lakh from different accounts during the last four years.

West Agartala police were investigating into the complaints. However, the accused has not yet been arrested.

According to reports, Shiuli Sutradhar, Sub-postmaster of Gramin Dak Sewak branch, Krishnanagar, has embezzled an amount of Rs 10,54,029 from 46 savings and three recurring accounts between July 2003 and August 2007. UNI
