Snowfall leaves tourists stranded

Muri, Dec 2, 2007 : Scores of tourists on holiday had to be rescued after being stranded on December 01, as snow blocked the Rohtang pass on December 01.

The holidayers were brought down to Muri located 5 kilometres away from Rohtang where they were provided with food and shelter. Strategically important Rohtang Pass is the region"s only link to the valley of Lahaul-Spiti and runs close to the India-Tibet border across dizzy Himalayan heights.
