No strategic info in stolen DMSRDE computer device: Antony
New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) The Government today said the computer devices stolen from the Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur, did not contain any strategic information, as per preliminary report.
Defence Minister A K Antony said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that the theft was the only incident that had taken place in the DMSRDE and all the related organisations in the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) during the last one year.
He said, ''In the DMSRDE incident, the laboratory has formed a committee to investigate into the circumstances of the theft and bring out the items and data lost. The laboratory has also filed an FIR with the local police for investigations, as per the preliminary report submitted by the committee.
''Meanwhile, a department/vigilance inquiry has also been initiated.'' Mr Antony said remedial measures were put in place to ensure that such incidents did not take place in future.
