Inquiry ordered into fire incident

Chandigarh, Dec 3 (UNI) Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner R K Rao today ordered an inquiry into the fire incident, in which a four-year old boy was burnt alive and 79 jhuggies were gutted, at a Jhuggie colony here last Saturday.

SDM (South), Mr Shurbir Singh, would conduct the inquiry and submit report within 15 days.

The District Administration would give Rs 2,000 each as relief to owners of 79 Jhuggies.

The District Administration clarified that there was no laxity on the part of administration in providing quick succor to the fire victims.
