Headmaster arrested, suspected to be Bangladeshi
Barrackpore, Dec 3 (UNI) A headmaster alleged of being a Bangladesh national, was arrested here today and remanded to 13-day judicial custody by a subdivisional court at Krishnanagar in Nadia district yesterday.
Sanjib Sarkar was currently the headmaster of Madhyamgram Boy's High School in North 24 Parganas.
Earlier, Sarkar served as a headmaster in a school at Shaktinagar in Nadia for the last ten years.
Police said Sarkar had submitted fake certificates in support of his nationality and was staying in the Indian territory.
However, the police refused to divulge further information.
Meanwhile, local municipal authorities expressed surprise over the arrest of the headmaster.
