Former gram pradhan shot dead outside court

Sitapur, Dec 3 (UNI) Armed assailants shot dead a former gram pradhan outside the court premises in Kotwali area here today.

According to police, former Arthana gram pradhan Vipin Bihari Shukla was going to the court for a 1999 murder case hearing when he was shot at by his rivals.

He died on the spot.

Vipin had a criminal past and was accused in a total of nine cases, including that of murder and kidnapping, the police added.

A case was registered and investigations were on.
