Former gram pradhan killed outside court

Sitapur, Dec 3 (UNI) Armed assailants today killed a former gram pradhan outside the court premises in Kotwali area here.

According to police, former Arthana gram pradhan Vipin Bihari Shukla was going to the court for a 1999 murder case hearing, when he was attacked by his rivals, who hurled a bomb at him.

He died on the spot.

Vipin had a criminal past and was accused in a total of nine cases, including that of murder and kidnapping, police added.

An FIR had been registered against six persons and a manhunt launched to nab the culprits.
