Enforce Goondas Act in Pondy: AIADMK

Puducherry, Dec 3 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the AIADMK today urged the administration to enforce Goondas Act in the Union Territory to curb mounting crimes, including bomb culture.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the party office bearers meeting here.

Another resolution urged the administration to provide a solatium of Rs ten lakh to the family of the deceased in a bomb blast here on December one last and Rs three lakh each to the injured. It was maintained that the Rs one lakh announced by the Chief Minister was insufficient.

Resolutions urging the Government to conduct an impartial inquiry into the bomb hurling and bomb blast incidents and condemning Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, PMK founder-leader S Ramadoss and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in the medicos strike issue were also passed.

Earlier, the meeting paid homage to the boy killed in the bomb blast and observed two minutes silence.
