Coca-Cola sets up foundation with $ 10 mln initial corpus

New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) Leading beverage firm Coca-Cola Company today said it will set up a 'Coca-Cola India Foundation' with an initial corpus of 10 million dollars, focussing on an array of social and environmental issues.

''This Foundation, with an initial corpus of 10 million dollars, would focus on a range of activities including water, environment, healthy living and social advancement,'' said company President and COO Muhtar Kent.

The company in India has undertaken a series of activities for community development and inclusive growth, he added.

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola India developed an animation film on environmental education in partnership with an NGO BAIF Development Research Foundation.

The film, named 'Our Environment-Let Us Protect It', carries scientific facts on environment pollution and the methods of preveting it.

The 60-minute film will be dessiminated by Coca-Cola India in more than 5,000 schools covering more than 1,00,000 students in primary schools in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
