Biocon eyes acquisition by March '08

New Delhi, Dec 3: Biocon Ltd, country's fully integrated healthcare company, plans to acquire a firm by the end of the current financial year to boost its business in overseas markets.

''We are looking at US, Europe and some of the emerging markets,'' company's Chairman Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw told reporters at India Economic Summit jointly organised by the World Economic Forum and CII here today.

The Bangalore-based firm has six pharmaceutical products in its discovery pipeline, and that Biocon plans to launch insulin in Europe in the next 18 to 24 months, she said.
