TN Govt to provide 25 lakh Colour Television sets:CS

Kanniyakumari, Dec 1 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary L K Tiripathi today said the State Government would provide 25 lakh Colour Television sets and family identity cards in the first phase all over the State.

Talking to newspersons here, he said in Kanniyakumari District 68,605 Colour Television sets were distributed.

Mr Tripathi said the Government was planning to costruct a bridge adjacent to sea rock, Tiruvallur statue and Vivekananda Memorial Mandapam. The Government, subject to Centre's approval, had decided to provide facilities to fishing and harbour, among others, at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore, he added.

He said there is no law and order problem in the State.

Tamil Nadu is the largest manufacturer of electricity in India, he added.
