RJD demands implementation of Ranganath panel report

New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) The RJD today demanded the implementation of Justice(retd) Ranganath Misra committee report on the demand for giving Scheduled Caste status to Dalit Muslims and Dalit Christians in the country.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the in Lok Sabha, party MP Devendra Prasad Yadav said the committee had submitted its report to the Government on May 31 but it has still not been tabled in the House.

Demanding that Dalit members of the two minorities be given the SC status for their uplift, he said it was essential to bring them into the national mainstream.

Mohammed Salim (CPI-M) and Rasa Singh Rawat (BJP) among others associated with the demand.
