One held, explosives recovered in Poonch

Jammu, Dec 2 (UNI) One person was arrested along with explosives after Police and Army launched a joint operation in teshil Mendhar of district Poonch, official sources said today.

Sources told UNI that based on a tip off, a joint search operation was launched by the Mendhar Police and troops of 37 Rashtriya Rifles(RR).

The arrested person has been identified as Mohd Rashid.

''Gun powder about 700 grams, ten detonators, explosives including ten gelatin sticks and five metres of wire was recovered from his possession,'' sources said, adding a case had been registered and investigations were in progress.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of SSP Poonch Jagjit Kumar.
