Karnataka struggling at the end of second day

Mysore, Dec 02 (UNI) Visitors Rajasthan piled up 393 runs in their first innings after restricting hosts Karnataka 118 for three in the Ranji trophy Super League group 'A' match at the end of the second day here today.

Rajasthan, which had scored 266 yesterday added another 127 runs thanks to good display by Robin Bisht who got out for 99 and missed his hundred and Rohit Jalani (62) Pankaj Singh (40) and skipper Mohammed Aslam (32). The Rajasthan made 393 before folding up their first innings.

For the hosts test discard Sunil Joshi scalped six wickets for 83 followed by N C Ayyappa who claimed 2 wickets.

Hosts Karantaka who began well made 78 before losing its first wicket in the form of Robin Uthappa after scoring well made 55 runs.

Karnataka lost its second wicket seven runs later when K B Pawan followed Uthappa after makign 24 runs. Hosts slipped into trouble after losing third wicket when S Shinde who was looking good misqued Shamsher Singh for 25.

C Raghu and K P Appanna were at the creas when stumps were drawn with 09 and 03 runs respectively. Hosts have to struggle hard to earn innings lead and to earn crucial points to remain in contest tomorrow.

Karnataka: First Innings: 118 for 3 in 44 overs (Robin Uthappa 55, Sudhindra Shinde 25, K B Pawan 24, Sunit Mathur 1 for 26 and Mohammed Aslam 1 for 24).
