Farmers' Association plea to YSR on paddy MSP
Hyderabad, Dec 2 (UNI) Leaders of All Party Farmers' Association today urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to lead an all party delegation to New Delhi to prevail upon the Centre to hike Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.
Talking to newspersons here after calling on Dr Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Ryotu Sangham President K Ramakrishna said the leaders also apprised him about the farmers' plight.
The representatives of the association would go to New Delhi on their own if the state government failed to prevail upon the Centre on the MSP issue.
Mr Ramakrishna said the Left would continue with its struggle until the farmers secured justice.
Recently, Dr Reddy had announced on the floor of the Assembly that he would take an all party delegation to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and convince the Centre on the issue.
