Bareilly, Dec 2 (UNI) Inveighing the Congress led-United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime at the Centre, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today observed it was unfortunate that instead of declaring Ram Setu as national heritage, the former was conspiring to destroy the under sea bridge.
''The ignoramous people challenging the existence of Lord Ram does not know much about Indian culture...notwithstanding protest by a multitudinous section of the country, Centre surrendered before America's loutish behaviour,'' RSS Sarsangh Chalak K S Sudarshan told mediapersons here.
''If Ram Setu gets destroyed, almost 16 lakh fishermen would be denied bread and butter. Besides, the country would lose thorium, which is available in abundance at the under sea bridge,'' Mr Sudarshan underlined.
He said that Hindus across the globe have got united to save the under sea bridge, which is associated to Lord Ram. If need arises, Ram Setu protest would gather momemtum.
Firing a salvo at UPA, the RSS leader termed the proposed Indo-US Nuclear deal as ''mortgaging'' the country's sovereignty.
