Cong govt failed to maintain law and order: AIADMK

Puducherry, Dec 2 (UNI) Charging the Congress government with laxity in maintaining law and order here, AIADMK state secretary A Anbazhagan today demanded immediate reintroduction of National Security Act (NSA) in the Union Territory.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Anbazhagan MLA also demanded the administration to provide a solatium of Rs ten lakh to the family of the 12-year-old boy, who was killed in a blast here yesterday.

He also demanded a solatium of Rs three lakh to those injured in the blast.

Following the Tamil Nadu government's drive to curb activities of anti-social elements, Puducherry has become a den for criminals, he charged.

A murder case should be registered and the culprits, who made the bomb, must be booked, he said, adding that the Chief Minister should immediately convene a meeting of senior police officials to assess the law and order situation.
