Badal orders enquiry into misuse of Red Cross Fund

Chandigarh, Dec 2 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today ordered an enquiry into the alleged misuse of Red Cross funds by different districts of the state.

Instructions to this effect were issued by the Department of Personnel of the state government. The Divisional Commissioners have been directed to conduct an enquiry into the working of all the Red Cross Societies of the districts falling in their respective jurisdictions and to submit their report within 15 days to the Punjab Chief Secretary.

Earlier, on November 30 this year, the state government had issued directions to all the Deputy Commissioners not to collect funds from members of the general public visiting government offices in the name of the Red Cross or any other organisation.
