AIADMK to stage fast at Kothagiri tomorrow

Chennai, Dec 2 (UNI) The opposition AIADMK will organise a fast at Kothagiri in Nilgiris district tomorrow to urge the Tamil Nadu government to fix price for green tea as per the High Court order.

In a statement here today, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa said distraint proceedings should not be initiated against indigent tea labourers.

The fast would be led by AIADMK propaganda secretary M Thambidurai and presided over by Nilgiris district secretary M Selvaraj.

The agitation was also planned to urge the government to take up development works in village and town panchayats.

Ms Jayalalithaa said the government should improve facilities in government hospital at Korada Mattam.

''The fast is also planned to condemn the foisting of false cases on AIADMK cadres by the DMK government,'' the release added.
