Tension pevails following clashes between CPM,BJP activists

Thrissur, Dec 1 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Kodungallur in the district, following a clash between CPI(M) and BJP activists on destroying their party flags and banners today.

The trouble started when the CPI(M) activists destroyed the banners and flag of the BJP, who had arranged a meeting to observe Jayakrishnan Master balidan day, who was killed by the CPI(M) workers some years ago near Cheraman mosque.

BJP activists retaliated and destroyed CPI(M) flags and banners of the CPI(M), which led to clashes between the two political parties.

Police intensified patroling in the area, and the situation was now under under, sources said.
