Media Study Group slams Metro official threatening scribe
New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) The Media Study Group, a forum of working journalists in the capital, today took strong exception to a Metro Rail official threatening a journalist for registering a grievance in the Complaint Book that there were no proper exit indications at some stations.
The Metro official, identifying himself as a manager of Mandi House Metro Station called the complainant Mr Anil Chamria, a freelance journalist, on his mobile phone asking the latter how he used strong language in his written complaint which could entail serious consequences.
The Media Group has stated that the complaint did not carry any unparliamentary word or phrase or intemperate language which was cushioned in such words as to indicate that grievances earlier registered with the Metro officials in this respect, had not been given due attention.
The Group demanded that higher Metro Authorities should take note and action against the errant official and also take due cognisance of the grievance raised there.
