Sikh girl jailed for murdering Muslim teenager in love rivalry

London, Nov 30 (UNI) A Sikh student in Britain has been convicted for stabbing her lover's pregnant wife to death.

A British court yesterday found 23-year-old Mindy Sanghera guilty of murder and jailed her for life with a minimum term of 14 years, Daily Mail reported.

Sanghera had killed Sana Ali by stabbing her more than 40 times brutally. She had also plunged the knife deep into her belly.

Detectives had discovered that it was a case of an inter-religious love triangle that would scandalise two communities.

In a statement to the court, Sana's husband, whose behaviour was branded ''weak-willed and reprehensible'' at the trial, said he felt ''indescribable'' emptiness since her death.

Sanghera was a student of dentistry when she fell in love with a Muslim Sair Ali.

Later, she found out that he had secretly gone for an arranged marriage to his teenage cousin, Sana Ali.

Ali, however, continued his relationship with her and they secretly entered a temporary Islamic marriage.
