Security in Sarnath's Buddha temples tightened

Varanasi, Nov 30 (UNI) In wake of the recent serial blasts in Uttar Pradesh, security at the Buddha temples in Sarnath here has been beefed up.

Both national and foreign tourists were being given entry into the temples only after an extensive luggage checking, sources said.

The visitors are being frisked with hand metal detectors at the famous Mulgandh Kuti Vihar.

Besides, the security has been strengthened at Vajra Vidya Sansthan, Tibetan, Japanese and Chinese temples.

The patrolling of police has also been increased.

Lord Buddha had given his first gospel to his five disciples here and thousands of tourists from the country and abroad visit the prominent Buddhist religious spot of Sarnath.
