RPI(A) chief fires broadside at Maya

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Nov 30 (UNI) Republican Party of India (Ambedkar) President Prakash Ambedkar today alleged that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati's politics was dangerous and status quoist.

''Such politics is a hurdle to democracy and the manner in which she is bringing various castes under a single banner may lead to her leadership becoming monopolistic,'' he said in response to a query at a Meet-the-Press programme here.

As long as caste and community identities existed in India, reservation would have to continue, Mr Ambedkar felt.
