Mah Legislative Council passes ULC Act resolution

Nagpur, Nov 29 (UNI) The Legislative Council of Maharashtra today adopted a resolution to repeal the provisions of Urban Land Ceiling Act (ULCA) in the state.

The resolution was tabled by Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh in the last session of the House.

Discussions on the resolution continued today, with Nitin Gadkari, Madhukar Chavan (both BJP) and Sharad Patil (Janata Dal) expressing their views. However, Shiv Sena members did not participate in the discussion.

Earlier in the day, the Council also adopted a similar resolution.
